An early start following unusual warmth in March meant an early end to the season and the warmth also brought insect pressure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In all, it’s anticipated to be a wetter season than normal for strawberries in key growing regions\u2013California, Baja, central Mexico and Florida. “It could be a very eventful strawberry season over the winter,” he says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For the near future, that light supply will continue to keep the market as strong as it can bear. “It will be whatever people will pay before they say\u2013I guess we just don’t need strawberries. This also comes on top of an already challenging growing season in California for strawberries that generally has been warmer than usual. “The water temperature in the Pacific Ocean is extremely warm. The Monterey Bay area has water temperatures of 65\u00b0F which is way above normal.
