En Argentine, o\u00f9 elle est cultiv\u00e9e dans huit provinces, comme ailleurs en Am\u00e9rique latine, les enqu\u00eates r\u00e9v\u00e8lent une pr\u00e9f\u00e9rence marqu\u00e9e des consommateurs pour cette culture dite non traditionnelle. Cherchant \u00e0 diversifier ses cultures p\u00e9rennes, encore largement domin\u00e9es par les cultures extensives, l\u2019Argentine s\u2019interroge donc sur la pertinence de l\u2019asperge comme culture alternative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Une \u00e9tude est en cours dans la province de Buenos Aires \u2013 o\u00f9 l\u2019asperge est cultiv\u00e9e depuis 1912 \u2013 pour identifier les cultivars les plus prometteurs en mati\u00e8re de productivit\u00e9 commerciale. Cette \u00e9tude s\u2019inscrit dans le cadre du IVe essai international de cultivars d\u2019asperge, organis\u00e9 par le groupe de travail \u00abasperges\u00bb de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 internationale des sciences horticoles (ISHS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft wp-image-34145 size-medium\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.asparagusworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/298798_document-225x300.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-34145\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">A. M Castagnino, et al<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"field_LQ24868017C\">Comme le rappellent A.M. Castagnino et al. dans l\u2019article intitul\u00e9 <em>\u00ab Productivit\u00e9 d\u2019un essai de treize g\u00e9notypes d\u2019asperge \u00e0 leur huiti\u00e8me ann\u00e9e \u00bb<\/em>, le choix du bon g\u00e9notype est crucial pour garantir une productivit\u00e9 optimale. L\u2019asperge pr\u00e9sente une forte interaction g\u00e9notype-environnement, ce qui exige une \u00e9valuation de plusieurs ann\u00e9es sur le terrain pour d\u00e9terminer les hybrides les mieux adapt\u00e9s aux conditions climatiques et agricoles locales, en particulier en cultures pluviales. L\u2019objectif de cet essai \u00e9tait donc d\u2019\u00e9valuer la performance des 13 g\u00e9notypes s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9s \u00e0 leur stade de production stable \u2014 soit leur 8e ann\u00e9e de r\u00e9colte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading field_LQ25227660C\">Cultivars test\u00e9s : origines italienne, chinoise et am\u00e9ricaine<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"field_LQ24868017C\">Les treize hybrides m\u00e2les test\u00e9s provenaient d\u2019Italie, de Chine et des \u00c9tats-Unis. Les six g\u00e9notypes verts italiens, fournis par le CRA de Lodi, \u00e9taient : \u2018Italo\u2019, \u2018Vittorio\u2019, \u2018Eros\u2019, \u2018Ercole\u2019, \u2018Giove\u2019 et \u2018Franco\u2019. De Chine venait \u2018Chino\u2019, et des \u00c9tats-Unis : \u2018Early-California\u2019, \u2018UC 157\u2019, \u2018Patron\u2019, \u2018NJ-1189\u2019, \u2018NJ-1123\u2019 (vert) et \u2018NJ-1192\u2019 (t\u00e9traplo\u00efde violet).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"field_LQ24868017C\">L\u2019essai a d\u00e9but\u00e9 le 16 novembre 2011 pr\u00e8s de la ville d\u2019Azul, dans la province de Buenos Aires, sur le champ exp\u00e9rimental de la Facult\u00e9 d\u2019agronomie de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 nationale du centre de la province. Les plants (120 cm\u00b3) ont \u00e9t\u00e9 dispos\u00e9s en blocs al\u00e9atoires complets \u00e0 quatre r\u00e9p\u00e9titions, avec une densit\u00e9 de 23 810 plants\/ha (1,4 m entre les rangs, 0,3 m entre les plants). Avant la plantation, la pr\u00e9paration du sol a impliqu\u00e9 plusieurs passages de d\u00e9chaumeuse et de chisel crois\u00e9, suivis d\u2019un travail avec fraise rotative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading field_LQ25227660C\">Syst\u00e8me combin\u00e9 de d\u00e9sherbage<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"field_LQ24868017C\">Le contr\u00f4le des mauvaises herbes a \u00e9t\u00e9 assur\u00e9 par une combinaison de motoculteur, d\u00e9sherbage manuel et traitements chimiques. Avant la plantation, le Trifluraline a \u00e9t\u00e9 appliqu\u00e9 (2 L\/ha). Ensuite, chaque ann\u00e9e, une pr\u00e9-\u00e9mergence combinait Metribuzine (0,5 kg\/ha, 35 %) et Pendim\u00e9thaline (2,5 L\/ha, 31,7 %). En post-\u00e9mergence : glyphosate et bentazone ont \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9s, notamment contre le souchet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading field_LQ25227660C\">Arrosage pluvial une fois la production stabilis\u00e9e<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"field_LQ24868017C\">Pendant les premi\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, un goutte-\u00e0-goutte hebdomadaire \u00e9tait utilis\u00e9. Une fois la production stabilis\u00e9e, seule l\u2019eau de pluie \u00e9tait n\u00e9cessaire. Le sol recevait un engrais de fond \u00e0 base de phosphate diammonique (250 kg\/ha) et une application annuelle d\u2019ur\u00e9e en phase v\u00e9g\u00e9tative. Le 28 novembre 2018, l\u2019engrais biologique Arco-Plus (1 L\/ha), riche en macronutriments (4,6 % N, 1,2 % P, 7 % K), 14 oligo\u00e9l\u00e9ments et hormones v\u00e9g\u00e9tales, a \u00e9t\u00e9 appliqu\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignnone size-medium wp-image-34146\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.asparagusworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/298799_document-300x153.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-34146\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">A. M Castagnino, et al<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading field_LQ25227660C\">R\u00e9colte tous les deux jours<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"field_LQ24868017C\">Du 18 septembre au 12 novembre 2019, les turions ont \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9colt\u00e9s tous les deux jours (27 jours de r\u00e9colte au total), coup\u00e9s \u00e0 ras du sol avec des couteaux, d\u00e8s qu\u2019ils atteignaient 23 cm et avaient une t\u00eate compacte \u2014 crit\u00e8re de maturit\u00e9 commerciale selon le protocole qualit\u00e9 argentin. Tous les turions ont \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9colt\u00e9s, m\u00eame les non-commerciaux, afin de ne pas entraver le d\u00e9veloppement des suivants. Ils ont ensuite \u00e9t\u00e9 transport\u00e9s rapidement au laboratoire de traitement post-r\u00e9colte de l\u2019universit\u00e9 pour lavage, tri et classement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading field_LQ25227660C\">\u2018NJ-1123\u2019 : meilleure performance commerciale<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"field_LQ24868017C\">\u00c0 la 8e ann\u00e9e de r\u00e9colte, cinq g\u00e9notypes verts italiens (\u2018Franco\u2019, \u2018Giove\u2019, \u2018Italo\u2019, \u2018Eros\u2019 et \u2018Vittorio\u2019) et deux g\u00e9notypes nord-am\u00e9ricains (\u2018NJ-1123\u2019 et \u2018NJ-1192\u2019) ont montr\u00e9 une sup\u00e9riorit\u00e9 en rendement commercial (t\/ha). Le g\u00e9notype \u2018NJ-1123\u2019 a fourni le plus grand nombre de turions commercialisables, malgr\u00e9 un taux \u00e9lev\u00e9 de rejets ou de turions de 2e qualit\u00e9. Il a conserv\u00e9 les meilleures performances d\u00e8s le d\u00e9but de la phase productive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"field_LQ24868017C\">Apr\u00e8s \u2018NJ-1123\u2019, les g\u00e9notypes les plus productifs en nombre total de turions ont \u00e9t\u00e9 \u2018Giove\u2019, \u2018Ercole\u2019, \u2018Eros\u2019 et \u2018Early California\u2019. Pour les plus gros diam\u00e8tres, \u2018Eros\u2019 et \u2018Giove\u2019 dominaient ; pour les plus fins : \u2018Early-California\u2019 et \u2018UC-157\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading field_LQ25227660C\">Une nette progression \u00e0 la 8e ann\u00e9e<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"field_LQ24868017C\">Comme attendu, la plantation a produit beaucoup plus de turions \u00e0 la 8e ann\u00e9e qu\u2019au d\u00e9but. Le taux \u00e9lev\u00e9 de rejets est probablement li\u00e9 \u00e0 la fr\u00e9quence de r\u00e9colte (un jour sur deux au lieu de tous les jours), sugg\u00e9rant qu\u2019un meilleur pilotage de la r\u00e9colte am\u00e9liorerait la productivit\u00e9 commerciale.
