Held from October 7 to 10 near Bordeaux, the event attracted almost 1,500 visitors, 125 exhibitors of 25 nationalities, 16 presentations and 25 outdoor growing demonstrations.
Over 25 nationalities were represented at the double event International Berry Days (IBD) and International Asparagus Days (IAD), organized by Macfrut, Interco and Christian Befve. Among the most represented countries were Mexico, Argentina, Canada, Chile, Mexico, Finland, Mexico, the Netherlands, Peru, Turkey, India and Uzbekistan. 16 technical presentations on asparagus and red fruit were given, as well as an international conference on red fruit. 12 different production structures presented 25 outdoor cultivation trials, available during the 2-day show.
Synergies between the 2 sectors
The double event highlighted the complementary nature of the asparagus and red fruit sectors. Many asparagus growers are already red fruit growers, with suppliers offering products for both sectors, and joint marketers. Finally, many winegrowers are planning to diversify their activities.
