Chile’s blueberry exports reach 55.946 tons in 2024-2025 season, with 12% organic share

The Chilean Fruit Blueberry Committee has disclosed that, as of week 2 in 2025, Chile has dispatched a total of 55.946 tons of blueberries since the commencement of the 2024-2025 fruit export season. A noteworthy shipment volume of 11.767 tons was recorded in the initial half of this year. When compared to the same timeframe of the previous seasons, the current cycle’s cumulative volume marks a 7% increase from the 2023/24 season and an 18% decrease from the 22/23 season.

The current shipment volume closely aligns with the Blueberry Committee’s projections for the period, deviating by a mere 2%. The distribution of varietal groups remained consistent, with group 1 (recommended and new varieties) comprising 81% of the exports during week 2. The leading varieties shipped were Legacy, accounting for 45% of the total, followed by Duke and Blue Ribbon, contributing 14% and 12% respectively.

The organic segment also saw its peak during week 2, with 1.855 tons exported, summing up to 6.759 tons throughout the 2024-25 campaign. This segment now represents 12% of Chile’s total blueberry exports for the season. In terms of export destinations, Continental Europe continues to be the primary market, claiming 41% of the exports, while the USA follows with a 35% share. South Korea and the United Kingdom are the third and fourth largest markets, holding 8% and 7% shares respectively.
